History of FICT

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) was one of the first among the three pioneer faculties of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman when it starts to operate in May 2002 at the Petaling Jaya campus offering three honors degree programmes namely Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours), Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) Information Systems Engineering. In 10th June same year, the Faculty had its first cohort intake of 59 students.

During 2008, the faculty's undergraduate programmes undergoes a shifting process to the new Kampar campus in Kampar, Perak, where it was placed under the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology (FSET).

On August 2009, when FSET was dissolved into 3 different faculties, the new FICT is set up in the Kampar campus to take charge of the ICT programmes. The FICT in Petaling Jaya remains to operate until the end of 2010 after the graduation of the last batch of FICT undergraduates that were based in the Petaling Jaya campus and all operations of FICT are thereafter fully shifted to the Kampar campus.
